David W. Oppenheim is a partner in Kaufmann, Feiner, Yamin, Gildin & Robbins LLP whose practice focuses on planning, structuring and implementing national and international franchise programs and sophisticated financing transactions for mature franchisors.
Mr. Oppenheim also concentrates on franchise-related mergers and acquisitions; the formation and implementation of domestic and international franchise, licensing and distribution programs; the modification of mature franchisors' networks; franchise royalty securitizations; drafting franchise agreements, ancillary agreements and franchise disclosure documents (and securing registration of same both domestically and internationally); and, advises the firm's franchise clients regarding the implementation of compliance programs and systemwide standards.
Mr. Oppenheim co-authored the CCH Business Franchise Guide's seminal analysis of the revised FTC Franchise Rule; co-authors the International Franchise Association on franchise law entitled An Introduction to the Law of Franchising; and is a frequent author and speaker on franchising, appearing at such venues as the American Bar Association Forum on Franchising, the International Franchise Association Legal Symposium and the Practising Law Institute.
Mr. Oppenheim was featured in Franchise Times in a profile entitled, "Hot Shot Franchise Lawyers Under 40". He was selected for this honor by a process through which attorneys were first nominated by their peers, and then researched and chosen by the magazine's staff.
Mr. Oppenheim is a member of the New York State Bar Association's Franchise Law Committee, the American Bar Association's Forum on Franchising and the International Franchise Association.
Mr. Oppenheim is a 1994 graduate of the Widener University School of Law where he was a member of the Moe Levine Trial Advocacy Honor Society. He received his undergraduate degree in 1991 from the University of Michigan. Mr. Oppenheim is admitted to the bars of the states of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
