David J. Kaufmann is a founding member and senior partner of New York City's Kaufmann, Feiner, Yamin, Gildin & Robbins LLP.

David - - partner-in-charge of Kaufmann Feiner's franchise team - - is nationally acclaimed as one of the nation's leading franchise lawyers.  No less an authority than the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York held that David Kaufmann is unquestionably an expert in franchise law.  The New York Times lauds David as a lawyer in New York who has represented many of the nation's top franchisors and who wrote the New York franchise disclosure law.  Crain's New York Business calls him a nationally recognized expert in franchising.  And Franchise Times recently cited David as one of franchising's superstars.  In fact, David alone is featured in The Best Lawyers in America under the heading Franchising - - New York City.

David authored the New York Franchise Act (New York's franchise statute); serves as an advisor to the organization of state and federal officials responsible for devising and coordinating franchise regulatory activity nationwide - - the NASAA (North American Securities Administrators Association) Franchise Project Group; served as a member of the Governing Committee of the American Bar Association Franchise Forum; co-authored the CCH Business Franchise Guide's seminal analysis of the revised FTC Franchise Rule; served as Chair of the New York State Bar Association Franchise Law Committee; is the New York Law Journal's franchise columnist; and, authors the Franchise Practice Commentary appearing in McKinney's New York Statutes, which is routinely relied upon by federal and state courts determining franchise disputes.

David's franchise clients include: Yum! Brands, Inc. (Pizza Hut/KFC/Taco Bell/Long John Silvers/A&W); Hilton Hotels Corporation (Hilton Hotels/Embassy Suites/Doubletree Hotels/ Waldorf - Astoria); InterContinental Hotels Group plc (Holiday Inns/Inter-Continental Hotels); Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Inc.
